I'm Giving My Content Away For Free
Last year my buddy Dan and I were talking about coaching.
Where it was going; How to handle increasing info overload, minimal differentiation and dropping trust.
We’ve both done rather well out of coaching and all the things involved.
But the environment has changed.
There is an obvious answer: make your ideas free and your coaching expensive.
The quality of free content out there shows how far the free line has moved.
There are videos on YouTube today that were $5,000 programs yesterday.
The challenge with making ‘free’ a central pillar of your message is the people it can attract.
As much as you don’t want it to be true; People who pay, pay attention.
Results require skin in the game. Commitment, energy, money, reputation.
Always have. Always will.
In online communities and group environments that offer leverage, the cost of having low agency, negative or uncommitted people is very high.
While free attracts most everybody, it attracts a higher proportion of those people naturally.
Dan mentioned the idea of “open source.”
It was percolating in my head for months, until the journey with my new software platform, SoloOs, made the actual model clearly come to fruition.
The software industry has used open source for years.
Freely give away the source code and sell premium access to serious people.
Now coaches have been thrust into the software industry through AI, whether they like it or not.
Information has increasingly become a commodity, yet in an interesting paradox, information needs to be fed into the AI tools for them to generate quality results.
As a coach, your IP is simultaneously less valuable and more valuable at the same time.
The value of the information on its own trends towards zero.
The context, training data and implementation edge that quality information gives the AI tools and the power it hands to our clients is priceless.
Moving the free line can have a profound effect on the attention you get, the people you attract, and the relationship you build with the people that matter.
If you want to spend 3-4 hours creating a hybrid offer on a Google Doc, then I’ll give you the training and the template to do so.
I’m confident the smart ones will give me $78 to do it in 3 minutes with the Offer Printer tool that’s right next to it Inside SoloOS.
If you want to use my stuff for free and not pay me a dime then all power to you.
I like to go first.
It’s responsible for the majority of the success I’ve ever had.
Today I’m making all my content open source:
47 individual trainings and 3 full courses.
This content alone has generated millions of dollars for me, those I coach and those who’ve used it on its own.
Now the information is going to repeat that clever trick by powering the Ai tools inside SoloOs and the platforms we’re building on it with our partners.
Information is still the edge.
Now it’s open source it finds it’s next home powering insights and implementation that the Ai age have ushered in.

How does the paid version of Substack work here? Also with access to AI tools?
